As the vibrant energy of New York enveloped us, we took the opportunity to not only explore this iconic destination, but also to celebrate a special moment. We met Peter and Carol in the heart of Central Park, a picturesque oasis amidst the urban bustle, where we gathered to chat and have a good time. It was the perfect setting to share stories and experiences while enjoying the charm of the Big Apple.
During our chat, we explored their favorite things to do in the city, from landmarks to local culinary gems. They shared their passion for museums and the joy of interacting with other PTC associates and employee, which makes their New York experiences so special. We also discussed their upcoming travel plans, including a dream trip to Spain.
Q: How often do you come to New York?
We go to New York about two or three times a year, and each visit is a new adventure!
Q: What are some of your favorite activities when you are in the city?
A: Times Square is always one of our favorite things to do, and we can't resist seeing a Broadway show, like Wicked and The Lion King.
Q: Which attractions do you enjoy the most?
Carol has a weakness for museums. We have visited the American Museum of Natural History, MoMA, the Space Museum and the Body Museum. Each visit is an opportunity to discover something new.
Q: What is your favorite thing about New York?
We are captivated by the iconic landmarks. From the breathtaking views of the Empire State Building to the historic grandeur of Grand Central Terminal and the inspiring Statue of Liberty, there is so much to admire. We also like to relax in Central Park with a Krispy Kreme donut and a coffee, watching the world go by - it's a perfect time.
Q: Do you connect with other people during your visits?
Of course. We often meet up with partners in the city. In fact, PTC partner Nareeza is on the way, so when we come we have dinner with her and her family. Sharing dinner and stories with them adds a lot to our experience. Also, we have met employees from different Palladium resorts here in New York who make our visits even more enjoyable.
Q: What local places do you recommend?
You can't miss Ellen's Stardust Diner. It's a unique experience, the waiters are amazing singers and dancers, and the energy is infectious. It's worth the wait.
Another must-see is the Apollo Theater. It is an iconic venue that hosts everything from comedy nights to legendary concerts. Its history is palpable, as stars such as Michael Jackson and Aretha Franklin have performed there.
Q: What makes these visits special for you?
We value the time we spend with partners and staff. Forming those bonds makes our trips a family experience, full of laughter and shared memories.
Q: Any exciting travel plans on the horizon?
We are planning a trip to Spain. I've been daydreaming about visiting Ibiza for the first time. We would love to stay at the Grand Palladium Ibiza and explore the beauty of the island.
Q: Do you have a message for your fellow travelers?
A thought for everyone: Don't wait too long to do something special to yourself. Many of us put off indulging, but those once-in-a-lifetime moments can slip through our fingers. Take the opportunity to do something nice for yourself and don't worry about perfection. Instead, focus on finding those perfect moments in life. Enjoy the journey.
